Does producing lanolin harm the sheep?

The raw lanolin material is sourced from sheep that are farm raised in the clean open pastures of New Zealand. All wool collection is done with gentle precision by hand. The process is actually very healthy for the sheep’s coat and our Prolan grease is a natural by-product of wool production.

Does Prolan smell?

During the initial application there may be a slight natural odor. However, once it has cured for roughly 24 hours there is no ongoing odor.

Is Prolan toxic?

One of the best things about Prolan is that the main ingredient (lanolin) is natural, non-toxic, and non-carcinogenic.

Do I need to remove other products before applying Prolan?

Paint should be applied first, with a coat of Prolan applied overtop after the paint has hardened. Otherwise, the paint will stick to the Prolan wax instead of the original surface.

A coating of Prolan Extreme applied to the internal cavities of a boat hull will prevent the air and moisture from getting to the surface. This will also prevent corrosion.
